Here’s an excerpt from an email from the Obama campaign grassroots fundraising organization, asking for contributions.
”We’re up against a Republican Party and special interest-funded groups that will spend hundreds of millions of dollars spreading any message that they believe will defeat the President and roll back our efforts to build a fairer economy that rewards hard work and responsibility, not large corporations.”
The Obama campaign has put an enormous amount of energy it’s grassroots funding operations. Republican’s can’t say the same. Everybody knows they have plenty of corporate donors and “special interest-funded groups” powering their campaigns.
LET’S NOT FORGET:
The Obama campaign takes all the money it can get from “special interest-funded groups,” just like Republicans. Since the Citizens United decision has created a new campaign environment where money=speech, I can only imagine what we’ll see from both parties in 2012.
It was easy to find a list of the largest donors to the Obama campaign in 2008. See if any names sound familiar.
