“All revolutions – provided they are real revolutions – are in the final analysis changes of classes. Therefore the best means of increasing the awareness of the masses and exposing the deception of the masses with revolutionary vows is the analysis of the class changes that have taken place or are taking place in these revolutions.” V.I. Lenin

“But also the forms of technical organization are determined by the same motive of profit. Hence the strict limitation of the better paid scientific experts to a small number, combined with a mass of cheap unskilled labor. Hence the structure of society at large, with its low pay and poor education for the masses, with its higher pay—so much as higher education demands for the constant filling of the ranks—for a scientifically trained minority.”

Anton Pannekoe, Workers’ Councils 1947

Don’t just look at this nationally, but think globally

Awesome! The Black Panther had an amazing circulation of 250,000 papers in 1971.
Think I heard this same stat in a podcast called "The Role of the Revolutionary Newspaper" from Socialism 2012 conference

"Documentary on labor rights in Azerbaijan: Without hands…"

In the “poorest” nations in the world, how can we advance labor right?

Companies will complain of low profit margins, that they are “unable” to comply with developed-world safety standards
Governments will say they don’t have the resources to enforce labor standards

As it is in most poor, “developing” nations, lack of resources is considered a major obstacle to fulfilling labor rights and for prosperity in general.

So how can we be sure, in a resource-poor country, that safety standards are upheld, work hours are manageable, and workers renumeration will be fair and expected to rise…??

One major resource is not being tapped in these countries: people power. Freely organized labor.

Worker organization is free - it doesn’t cost a thing. It is the maturation of the primary force, the human force, that drives forward real development, development that is based in human values of equality, freedom and democracy, and not about GDP, profit, and control…

In the dire economic conditions of the poorest countries of the world, the power of free organization is, perhaps, the greatest and most essencial resource that drives development. Power to the people. Take control of our lives.
