Excellent piece of history from an incredible, terrifying and tragic era of Chinese history. One author described it as “Ten Years of Madness” in her book. Check that out too. Great stories, finally retold after many years of silence on the issue.

Obama tours Honeywell (reporter silenced for questioning its labor practices) PHOTO OP! Kim Jong-il-esque

Reporter Mike Elk got a microphone ripped from his hands during a press conference while asking Honeywell CEO about shady labor practices at his company.

Obama went to tour the plant, had this picture-perfect photo op:

This just looks so staged. The US propaganda department needs to step it up. Only the late, great Kim Jong-il could match the staged-ness.

…by “great”, I mean, only great at taking staged pictures. Also great at oppressing millions of people

I remember when I started to read “A People’s History of the United States”.

I read about 5 pages in, and felt so sick, that I had to stop for a few days. After a while, I picked it up again, read another few pages, and felt sick yet again.

It’s absolutely heart-breaking, and deeply gut-wrenching. So much disgusting oppression and cruelty hidden behind propaganda, myth, and straight lies.

I imagine his work will be some of the greatest I have ever read… if I ever get the stomach to finish it.
